The Mission of the ERAC is to enhance collaborative efforts among Dutchess County Assistant Superintendents of Instruction (HOW DO YOU MEASURE AN ENHANCED COLLABORATIVE EFFORT?)(or other representatives), and to keep informed regarding issues of instruction, curriculum and assessment.(CAN’T THIS BE DONE THROUGH MEMO?) This group is geared toward Dutchess County School District Assistant Superintendents of Instruction and/or other representatives.
I would hope the mission of ERAC would be to allow colleagues to come together to share expertise and work product and reduce redundancy in our work. Also to provide information about how things are done in each of the districts in areas in which success is being experienced.

    Please consider the following:
    1. Is this statement a vision or a mission? I prefer a vision statement so that ERAC has some tension between where we are today and where we envision ourselves to be in a preferred future.
    2. I would like to see some statement to the effect that ERAC envisions itself to be a leader in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development for the purpose of ensuring that all students for whom we are collectively responsible attain high academic, social and emotional standards.
3.Perhaps a statement about the critical importance of staying fully informed about the direction New York State is heading would be helpful as it is our task to be planning out ahead of SED initiatives.
    4. Perhaps there should be some language that speaks of innovation, alignment with best practice, research, and the integration/infusion of interactive communication and knowledge generation tools.
